The news broke Friday, then confirmed on Monday that former UFC title challenger Val??rie L??tourneau has signed with Bellator MMA. L??tourneau (8-6) heads into her promotional introduction off three straight losses, enduring reverses to Joanna J??drzejczyk, Joanne Calderwood and many recently Viviane Pereira this past December at UFC 206. This year After her recent slide, the Top Team product was released from the UFC.
The 33-year-old L??tourneau has had trouble in the past producing the 115-pound strawweight limitation in the UFC and will fit in well into the 125-pound flyweight division of Bellator. She tried out for Season 18 of The Ultimate Fighter but was eliminated after losing to Roxanne Modafferi by submission.
Where she took a victory in June 2014, l??tourneau was given a second opportunity on short notice. She followed that up with wins over Jessica Rakoczy and Maryna Moroz that earned her a title shot against J??drzejczyk at UFC 193.
